About

A journalist, a reformed corporate lawyer, and a dedicated travel writer, I’m as comfortable interviewing Thailand’s businessmen and politicians as I am asking a back-alley Chinatown chef for her secret recipe for duck noodles. My mission is to give travelers the inside information that can turn a good trip to Thailand into a great one.

Like all meaningful things, my career was more a product of evolution than of planning. I grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I went to law school after college and practiced law for five years-enough time to produce a rainforest’s worth of corporate paperwork. Then I gave it all up to study journalism at Columbia University. The world pulled me east, to London, the Middle East, and finally Bangkok, where I settled (for now at least). My passions include food, photography, books, Bangkok’s charismatic street dogs, and above all, writing.

I just finished my first travel guide, Moon Thailand, and am currently working on Moon Bangkok.
